AMSL Aero, the developer of the hydrogen-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft Vertiia, has announced the appointment of Dr Adriano Di Pietro as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr Di Pietro, with extensive experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, and autonomous systems, is set to lead AMSL Aero into a new phase focused on achieving CASA certification, expanding manufacturing operations, and launching Vertiia internationally. Under his leadership, AMSL Aero plans to conduct its first hydrogen-powered flight test program and develop its second full-scale prototype of the Vertiia aircraft. Dr Di Pietro, coming from roles in hydrogen-powered flight and advanced air mobility systems development, is expected to drive the company's efforts in certification and global commercialization. The company's Co-Founder and Board Director, Andrew Moore, praised Dr Di Pietro's technical knowledge and strategic leadership, emphasizing the importance of his appointment as AMSL Aero moves into hydrogen flight testing and global expansion. AMSL Aero aims to redefine aviation by building a cleaner and more connected regional transport network, focusing on zero-emissions air mobility. Dr Di Pietro expressed his enthusiasm in joining AMSL Aero to work towards a bold vision of zero-emissions air mobility and a sustainable future.
