Saudi Arabia is making progress in its green hydrogen commitment with the NEOM project, which is 80% complete. The project includes a 4 GW generation network using solar and wind energy to produce 600 tons per day of green ammonia by mid-2026. Air Products is the prime contractor, overseeing the installation of renewable generation facilities like wind turbines, electrolyzers, and hydrogen storage. The project aims to avoid five million tons of CO₂ emissions per year and plans to have the first ammonia product available by 2027. NEOM's green hydrogen initiative is a crucial step in the energy transition, targeting global export and contributing significantly to reducing global emissions.
