AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a green energy supply chain between India and Northwestern Europe via Rotterdam. This initiative is set to create Europe’s first energy port and serve as a vital entry point for hydrogen carriers. The partnership includes provisions for supplying bunkering fuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs), as well as analyzing the requirements for terminal infrastructure development in Rotterdam and across Northwestern Europe's supply chain. Additionally, the collaboration aims to support the development of strategic port infrastructure to ensure safe distribution of hydrogen-based fuels and products, linking India’s Net Zero Industrial Clusters to Europe. By facilitating exports of up to 1 million tonnes annually, the envisioned supply chain could enable green fuel trade valued at $1 billion. CEO Boudewijn Siemons expressed optimism about establishing a robust supply chain for low-carbon fuels and chemicals, leveraging India's green hydrogen production potential and Rotterdam's advanced infrastructure. Anil Chalamalasetty, Founder of AM Green, highlighted the partnership's significance in driving global growth in green fuels, with ambitious targets for green ammonia and SAF production. This collaboration is a pivotal step towards creating a global carbon-free energy ecosystem, emphasizing AM Green's role in accelerating industrial decarbonization. Earlier partnerships with DP World further indicate AM Green's commitment to establishing sustainable supply chains for green fuels and chemicals.
