Energys has received planning approval for its state-of-the-art green hydrogen production facility in Hastings, Victoria, after dedicated engagement with the Victorian planning system. This project signifies a significant advancement in Australia's energy transition, focusing on displacing grey hydrogen with a green alternative. The facility will house a 1 MW Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser powered by grid electricity during surplus renewable energy periods. Coregas Pty Ltd will manage downstream logistics and distribute the hydrogen to industrial and mobility customers. By reducing emissions in various markets including power, road, and marine transport, this initiative aims to contribute to decarbonization efforts. The project aligns with broader energy market goals by utilizing electricity during surplus supply periods for system stability and renewable energy integration. This development underscores Energys' commitment to scalable clean energy solutions and supports Australia's net-zero ambitions. The support from the Victorian government through The Renewable Hydrogen Commercialisation Pathways Fund (CPF) has also been acknowledged.
