Jordan's energy sector in the first quarter of 2025 has seen remarkable advancements towards cleaner and sustainable energy sources. The Executive Programme Report for the Economic Modernisation Vision highlighted achievements in green hydrogen initiatives, natural gas exploration, and household-level solar energy support. The completion of a shared infrastructure blueprint for green hydrogen projects, alignment of business models with technical evaluations, and signing of new land-use agreements and MoUs demonstrate the country's commitment to green hydrogen ambitions. In the natural gas sector, efforts to enhance output at the Risha gas field and explore new areas like the Jafr region and geological studies in the Sarhan and West Safawi regions signify progress. Additional investment opportunities for supplying natural gas to cities like Amman and Zarqa, and the initiation of projects like supplying natural gas to Al Qweira Industrial City show a comprehensive approach towards energy efficiency. At the household level, upgrading the solar energy support platform, facilitating solar water heater installations, and supporting low-income families through the 'Fazeet Ahl' initiative with grants for solar water heater systems, are steps towards enhancing energy access and efficiency.
