In Kathmandu, Nepal, the government is gearing up to explore the potential of producing green hydrogen energy as part of its efforts to promote alternative energy sources. During the fiscal year 2082 federal parliament meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel announced a forthcoming feasibility study on green hydrogen in collaboration with universities and the private sector. The government's objective is to attract both domestic and foreign private investments towards the production of green hydrogen. Additionally, plans are in place to integrate solar and air energy into the national energy system by utilizing battery storage technology. Minister Poudel emphasized the importance of signing power purchase agreements equivalent to those of reservoir-based projects once the stored energy is integrated into the national grid. This initiative not only focuses on green hydrogen but also highlights the significance of sustainable energy practices and partnerships with various stakeholders for a greener and more efficient energy landscape in Nepal.
