Oman LNG has partnered with Kanadevia Corporation to conduct a Pre-FEED for a methanation pilot plant and a Concept Study for a future commercial-scale e-methane facility in Muscat. This initiative, aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and the National Green Hydrogen Strategy, aims to address carbon dioxide waste by producing synthetic methane. The project's focus on carbon capture and utilisation technologies reflects the commitment to sustainability and innovation. The planned pilot plant will serve as a stepping stone towards a full-scale facility, with a target of 18,000 normal cubic meters per hour of e-methane production. By combining captured CO₂ with green hydrogen, the project emphasizes the importance of net-zero emissions objectives. The partnership with Kanadevia brings global expertise to the project, enhancing its potential for success. Furthermore, the collaboration is part of broader efforts by Oman and Japan to promote clean energy solutions like hydrogen and ammonia, emphasizing a shared commitment to a cleaner energy future.
