Reliance Industries has emerged as the successful bidder in PFC Consulting's tender to establish a transmission system for green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing projects in the Kandla area of Gujarat, India. The company will be acquiring a 100% equity stake in Kandla GHA Transmission (KGTL) at a value of ₹200 million, with the transaction expected to be finalized by June 2025. Post-acquisition, KGTL will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries. Other notable bidders in the tender included Adani Energy Solutions, Power Grid Corporation of India, Resonia, and the Tata Power Company. Reliance's scope of work encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from design and engineering to operation and maintenance, ensuring compliance with government regulations and guidelines. Moreover, the company will undertake various activities such as survey, project report formulation, finance arrangement, project management, and securing necessary consents and permits. The project assets, including substations and land, will be transferred to Reliance Industries after 35 years of operation without any cost or encumbrances. This initiative aligns with Reliance's broader commitment to renewable energy, as evidenced by its recent acquisition of Lakadia B Power Transmission for setting up an interstate transmission system in Gujarat. The company's participation in solar power projects with energy storage systems further underscores its strategic focus on sustainability and clean energy initiatives.
