The primary goal behind this acquisition is to drive forward the company's R&D efforts geared towards enhancing the efficiency and scalability of alkaline water electrolysis systems. Dr. Werner Ponikwar, the CEO, highlights the acquired technology's efficiency, operating at up to 35 bar, potentially reducing the need for external compression in various industrial applications. Founded in 2007, GHS brings valuable expertise in high-pressure electrolysis to the table, further boosting Thyssenkrupp Nucera's innovation capabilities. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized by late summer 2025.
