Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the Adani Group, has launched India's first hydrogen fuel cell truck to revolutionize logistics by promoting cleaner transportation. These trucks are expected to gradually replace diesel vehicles used in the company's operations. In collaboration with Indian and international energy technology firms and a major auto manufacturer, Adani is developing trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cell batteries for cargo transport. The trucks are equipped with advanced smart technology and three hydrogen tanks, enabling them to carry up to 40 tons of cargo over a 200-kilometer range. The inaugural event took place in Raipur, India, where Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the first hydrogen-powered truck. This truck will be utilized for transporting coal from the Gare Pelma III Block to the state's power plant, showcasing the state's commitment to sustainability. Adani Group's initiative aligns with their dedication to decarbonization and responsible mining practices, aiming to set new benchmarks in sustainable mining operations. The project is a joint effort between Adani Natural Resources (ANR) and Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), both subsidiaries of Adani Enterprises. ANR will procure hydrogen cells from ANIL, which is involved in various green energy initiatives such as green hydrogen, wind turbines, solar modules, and battery manufacturing. By adopting hydrogen fuel cell technology in mining operations, Adani Group aims to significantly reduce emissions, noise pollution, crude oil imports, and the overall carbon footprint. The shift to cleaner fuels not only promotes sustainability but also enhances safety and efficiency in the mining sector. Adani Natural Resources has implemented innovative technologies like Dozer Push Semi-Autonomous Technology, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability and setting a new standard in the industry.
