Ballard Power Systems, a Canada-based developer and manufacturer of fuel cell products, has secured a significant purchase order to supply 6.4 MW of fuel cell engines to eCap Marine, a German clean power solutions provider. These fuel cell engines will be integrated into green marine propulsion systems by eCap Marine to power two SeaShuttle vessels in the fleet of Dutch logistics company Samskip. The initiative aims to support the decarbonization of waterways between Norway and the Netherlands, contributing to a cleaner marine transport sector. The FCwave 200 kW fuel cell engines are designed to offer zero-emission power and have received type approval from respected classification societies. This order signifies a continuation of the successful collaboration between Ballard and eCap Marine, with a focus on delivering clean propulsion solutions for long-haul marine operations.
