Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has finalized the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCoH) for establishing a 10,000 tonnes per annum green hydrogen generation unit at its Panipat refinery and petrochemical complex in Haryana, India. This move signifies IOC's foray into the green hydrogen domain, presenting India's most extensive green hydrogen project to date. Scheduled for commissioning by December 2027, the green hydrogen produced at the Panipat facility will replace fossil-derived hydrogen in refinery operations, leading to a notable decrease in carbon emissions. Hydrogen serves as a versatile fuel with applications across various industries, including oil refineries, steel plants, and transportation sectors.
