Engineering firm Cyient has been selected to assist in the creation of a green hydrogen production and distribution facility in Bodø, Norway. The project, led by GreenH and Luxcara, aims to provide green hydrogen for ferries and heavy transport at Langstranda. This initiative is part of a partnership with Torghatten Nord AS, which manages the Vestfjorden ferries crucial to Norway's maritime transport. Construction commenced in autumn 2024, representing a significant move in Norway's transition to cleaner energy, especially in maritime transport. Cyient will handle detailed plant engineering, drawing on its expertise in renewable energy projects to enhance the facility's design and efficiency. GreenH's COO, Espen Lied, expressed confidence in Cyient's contribution to the project, highlighting the importance of detailed engineering for the hydrogen plant. Cyient Norway's Managing Director, Espen Berg, emphasized the project's significance and the company's pride in participating in this innovative green hydrogen production for maritime transport. The green hydrogen produced will be sourced from renewable energy, offering a sustainable substitute for fossil fuels and promoting a greener transport system in Norway.
