Graphitic Energy, formerly known as C-Zero, based in Santa Barbara, Calif., has partnered with Technip Energies USA to develop and deploy its methane pyrolysis technology for hydrogen production. This innovative process, termed 'turquoise hydrogen,' uses natural gas to create clean hydrogen and graphite without emitting CO2. The collaboration includes funding for testing campaigns and plans for a licensing agreement to globalize Graphitic's technology. The technology is scalable and can produce 100,000 metric tons of hydrogen per year in a single process train. The partnership leverages Technip Energies' expertise in hydrogen generation and fluidized bed technology to standardize plant designs, reduce costs, and ensure sustainable, low-carbon production.
