Lhyfe, a green and renewable hydrogen producer, successfully completed its first European citizen funding campaign, raising €2.5mn from close to 1,200 investors through the Lita.co platform. This initiative marked a breakthrough in the sector, showing strong public interest in green hydrogen production solutions and innovative funding models in the energy field. The funds raised will support the development of four sites in France and Germany, enhancing Lhyfe's position in the European market. The company's revenue soared in 2024 to €5.1mn, underlining its growth trajectory. Lhyfe currently operates four production sites with a total electrolysis capacity exceeding 20 MW, enabling significant daily green hydrogen production. To bolster its projects, Lhyfe adopts a diversified financing approach, securing a total of approximately €449mn through a blend of equity, subsidies, and bank loans. Aligned with the EU's ambitious target of achieving 40 GW green hydrogen capacity by 2030, Lhyfe's contribution to the sector is crucial. The company's focus on citizen engagement in financing endeavors not only strengthens energy sovereignty but also supports local industrial revitalization. Lhyfe's CEO, Matthieu Guesné, emphasizes the importance of involving citizens in shaping the future of the green hydrogen market, highlighting the relevance of decentralized participation in energy transitions.
