Mingyang Group in Henan Province, China, has successfully implemented an off-grid hydrogen production and green transportation demonstration project at its wind farm. The project achieved a significant milestone by producing the first kilogram of green hydrogen. Utilizing a mobile flexible PEM hydrogen production station, the initiative established a complete industry chain from renewable energy power generation to efficient hydrogen-to-electricity conversion and zero-carbon green transportation. This development provides a new solution for energy consumption and the widespread application of green hydrogen. The hydrogen production station features a fully integrated design that allows for efficient hydrogen production when supplied with water and power. By directly connecting PEM hydrogen production to the wind turbine power supply, the project eliminates the need for traditional power grids or large-scale energy storage systems. The hydrogen produced meets high purity standards, suitable for fueling hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and various chemical production processes. By utilizing green hydrogen in transportation, the project is estimated to reduce CO₂ emissions significantly, offering environmental benefits equivalent to planting thousands of trees. Moreover, the green hydrogen produced can be utilized in chemical production processes to enhance waste oil recycling and promote the conversion of waste oils into high-purity biofuels. This initiative by Mingyang Group not only drives the large-scale implementation of clean energy but also accelerates the construction of a zero-carbon industrial park in Henan, fostering a comprehensive industrial ecosystem for clean energy applications.
