SunHydrogen Partners with The Process Group for Large-Scale Hydrogen Pilot Plant Design
Key Ideas
  • SunHydrogen partners with The Process Group for front-end engineering design of a >25-square-meter proof-of-concept hydrogen production pilot plant.
  • The pilot facility will use SunHydrogen's proprietary photoelectrochemical (PEC) technology at a larger scale, with the aim of being fully operational by late Q4 2025.
  • The collaboration aims to demonstrate scalable, green hydrogen production from sunlight and water, laying the foundation for larger hydrogen farms in the future.
  • SunHydrogen envisions expanding to installations with hundreds of square meters, leading the way for emission-free hydrogen production in various industrial applications.
SunHydrogen, Inc. has announced a partnership with The Process Group, LLC for the front-end engineering design of a >25-square-meter proof-of-concept hydrogen production pilot plant. This plant will deploy SunHydrogen's proprietary photoelectrochemical (PEC) technology at a larger scale than before, with the aim of being fully operational by late Q4 2025. The collaboration with The Process Group includes various aspects such as integration of PEC modules, design of fluid systems, mechanical interconnections, and ensuring safety protocols. SunHydrogen's CEO, Tim Young, expressed excitement over this partnership, highlighting the potential for future large-scale hydrogen farms. The Process Group's CEO, John Reardon, also shared enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the application of their expertise to SunHydrogen's technology. The project is a significant step towards scalable, environmentally friendly hydrogen production, with plans to expand to even larger installations in the future.
