France's Demeter is investing in Swedish startup H2 Green Steel through the Climate Infrastructure Fund for the construction of the world's first integrated large-scale green steel plant in Sweden, which includes Europe's largest hydrogen plant. The investment, along with Hy24, aims to decarbonize the industry and strengthen presence in Europe. H2 Green Steel had a significant fundraising round, totaling about €6.5 billion, to support its projects. The company is considering new projects in Quebec, Texas, Brazil, and Portugal, along with the innovative project in Boden, Sweden. The Boden project, set to start production in 2026, plans to produce 5 million tons of green steel and 100 thousand tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Demeter, a key player in venture capital and infrastructure investments, supports companies in the energy and environmental transition sectors.
