The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will host the Seventh Regional Committee Meeting for the Asia and the Pacific Region in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 15–17 July 2025. The focus of the meeting is to advance solar deployment and explore new technologies like Green Hydrogen. Mr Ashish Khanna, Director General of ISA, highlighted the importance of developing practical solutions for scaling solar energy and integrating new technologies. The meeting will emphasize catalytic finance, global capability centers, country-level platforms, technology roadmaps, and policy innovation to drive the adoption of solar energy and storage solutions across the region. Thematic sessions will delve into operationalizing the SIDS Solar Platform, strengthening institutional capacity, accelerating Green Hydrogen, energy storage, and E-Mobility, and advancing regional interconnections. The event will facilitate the signing of Country Partnership Frameworks and Partnership Agreements to bolster ISA's solar initiatives and establish new regional STAR Centres. The Regional Committee Meeting aims to strengthen ISA's regional engagement and contribute to impactful programmes aligned with the global climate agenda.
