AeroVecto, a startup in Oman, has teamed up with a vertiport developer from Romania to introduce a new project involving flying cars, specifically focusing on the launch of the Shuttle, an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This collaboration will not only cater to mass public transportation needs but also include variations for cargo delivery, emergency response, and premium travel experiences. LYNEports, based in Craiova, Romania, will facilitate the development of the Shuttle network in Oman, ensuring strict adherence to aviation-grade safety and regulatory standards. Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is actively working on a national strategy for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), aiming to seamlessly integrate drones and eVTOLs into the country's existing transport infrastructure. The overall objective is in line with the nation's Vision 2040 goals to enhance air mobility and transportation services. Moreover, the Gulf region, including cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is progressing towards deploying vertical take-off and landing aircraft, with plans already in place for establishing vertiports. Concurrently, collaborations with international entities are taking place, such as the agreement between US-based Doroni Aerospace and a Saudi investor for recreational flying cars and the partnership between California's Archer Aviation and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office for a manufacturing center. These developments signify a significant advancement in the aviation sector within the Gulf region, showcasing a positive movement towards embracing innovative technologies for future transportation needs.
