Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (B&W) has announced the utilization of funds from the sale of its Denmark-based subsidiary to Kanadevia Inova for the deployment of a BrightLoop™ hydrogen production facility in Massillon, Ohio. This collaboration with Kanadevia Inova, a leader in waste-to-energy and renewable natural gas technologies, aims to explore global opportunities for BrightLoop technologies. The commercial-scale BrightLoop facility in Ohio will leverage an innovative chemical looping process to produce three to five tons-per-day of hydrogen from water, with the added benefit of capturing carbon dioxide for storage. Furthermore, B&W and Kanadevia Inova have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to evaluate potential cooperation on BrightLoop projects utilizing waste and biomass as feedstocks. B&W's BrightLoop technology, featuring its proprietary iron-oxide TranspO2rt™ particle, enables efficient hydrogen production by splitting water molecules while capturing carbon emissions more effectively and economically than other technologies.
