GreenHarvest and Amogy Partner to Advance Ammonia-to-Hydrogen Power Systems in Taiwan
Key Ideas
  • GreenHarvest and Amogy collaborate to deploy ammonia-to-hydrogen power systems in Taiwan for industrial decarbonization.
  • Amogy's ammonia cracking technology converts ammonia into hydrogen for zero-carbon emissions power generation.
  • GreenHarvest expands its focus from rooftop solar to green hydrogen partnerships, aiming to import green ammonia by 2030.
  • The deployment of Amogy's technology in Taiwan represents a critical step towards decarbonizing industrial energy use in the region.
GreenHarvest, a Taiwanese renewable energy firm, has partnered with Amogy, a U.S.-based ammonia-to-power solutions company, to deploy ammonia-to-hydrogen power systems in Taiwan. This collaboration aims to support industrial decarbonization efforts by targeting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Amogy's proprietary ammonia cracking technology efficiently converts ammonia into hydrogen, which is then used in a hydrogen engine to generate high-performance power with zero carbon emissions. The system offers a modular, efficient, and safe clean energy solution for hard-to-abate sectors. Seonghoon Woo, CEO at Amogy, expressed pride in introducing their technology to Taiwan, highlighting the importance of decarbonizing industrial energy use in a significant digital infrastructure economy. GreenHarvest, known for its focus on rooftop solar PV development, has expanded internationally through a green hydrogen partnership in Australia. The company plans to start importing green ammonia to Taiwan by 2030. Through collaborations with partners like H2U in Australia and Amogy for ammonia-to-hydrogen solutions, GreenHarvest aims to provide reliable and user-friendly green power to industrial electricity users. The deployment of Amogy's technology in Taiwan is scheduled for late 2026 to early 2027, marking a significant milestone in advancing ammonia-based energy applications in the region.
