Australian company Hazer and U.S.-based KBR have signed an alliance agreement to advance Hazer's methane pyrolysis technology for hydrogen production in the ammonia and methanol industries. The partnership, initially spanning six years and with the potential for extension, will focus on developing facilities capable of producing over 50,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually. Both companies aim to collaborate on sales, marketing, and licensing of the technology, with an estimated total program cost between A$3-5 million. KBR will contribute around A$3 million to the program. KBR's President praised Hazer's technology for its potential to decarbonize ammonia and methanol sectors and meet the rising global need for low-carbon hydrogen. Hazer's CEO highlighted the significance of this partnership in commercializing their clean hydrogen technology on a global scale, aiming to address the urgent requirement for affordable, low-emission hydrogen in hard-to-abate industries. The alliance is seen as a crucial step towards achieving Hazer's strategic goals and accelerating the deployment of their technology at an industrial level. By leveraging KBR's expertise and market presence, Hazer anticipates advancing its business plan and scaling its technology rapidly. The partnership is expected to facilitate the realization of ten licensing deals in the coming decade, positioning Hazer as a key player in the clean hydrogen market.
