Australian company Hazer and U.S.-based KBR have signed an alliance agreement to advance Hazer's methane pyrolysis technology for hydrogen production in the ammonia and methanol industries. The partnership, initially spanning six years and with the potential for extension, will focus on developing facilities capable of producing over 50,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually. Both companies aim to collaborate on sales, marketing, and licensing of the technology, with an estimated total program cost between A$3-5 million. KBR will contribute around A$3 million to the program. KBR's President praised Hazer's technology for its potential to decarbonize ammonia and methanol sectors and meet the rising global need for low-carbon hydrogen.
