Hydrogen is gaining momentum as a clean energy alternative amidst increasing global demand for sustainable solutions. While the demand for hydrogen is on the rise, particularly green hydrogen produced from renewable sources, challenges persist in terms of production costs and carbon emissions. The article highlights the introduction of a breakthrough system in South Korea that integrates hydrogen production and liquefaction with cryogenic carbon capture (CCC) technology. This innovative approach enables the efficient production of high-purity hydrogen by capturing and storing carbon dioxide emissions. By utilizing CCC to cool flue gases to extremely low temperatures, solidifying CO₂ for easier separation, the system achieves a 27.5% reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional methods.
