AM Green BV, a clean energy platform, has acquired a 17.5% equity stake in Greenko Energy Holdings, a move that strengthens its presence in the green energy market. Through its subsidiary, AM Green Power, the company will hold a 25% stake in Greenko post-transaction. ORIX Corp. will invest in AM Green's parent company, AM Green (Luxembourg) S.à.r.l, to gain exposure to green hydrogen, green ammonia, sustainable aviation fuel, and other green molecules. AM Green focuses on producing green hydrogen, green ammonia, and biofuels at scale, with plans to deliver 5 mtpa of green ammonia by 2030. The company has secured agreements for green ammonia supply and long-term renewable energy PPAs. The acquisition enhances AM Green's integration with Greenko, a major player in renewables with ambitious energy storage projects. CEO Anil Chalamalasetty sees this as a significant step towards creating a fully integrated green energy platform.
