Oman's state-owned logistics giant ASYAD Group has initiated a tender process to conduct a feasibility study evaluating the logistics readiness necessary to support upcoming green hydrogen projects in the country. The study, which saw 13 companies participating, involves assessing port readiness, inland logistics, and staging areas to ensure alignment with the demands of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for the successful execution of large-scale hydrogen initiatives. Companies like Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte Touche ME, Haskoning International Engineering Consultancy, and Alhambra Infrastructure Advisors DMCC submitted bids for the study. The study also focuses on aspects related to shipment, exports, and imports within the green hydrogen supply chain. While a contract award has not yet been announced, the objective is to facilitate the development of a robust infrastructure to support the growth of green hydrogen projects in Oman. Additionally, Oman is projected to finalize the pre-FEED for shared green hydrogen infrastructure by the second quarter of 2025, as reported by Zawya Projects. This move underscores Oman's commitment to transitioning towards sustainable energy solutions and signifies a positive step towards embracing green hydrogen technology for a greener future.
