Ballard Power Systems has announced a new purchase order for 6.4 MW of fuel cell engines from eCap Marine, a leading expert in emission-free power, to be deployed on two vessels by Samskip, a major European multimodal transportation operator. The 32 FCwave™-200 kW engines will be integrated into green marine propulsion systems by eCap Marine to decarbonize routes between Norway and the Netherlands, with delivery scheduled for 2025 and 2026. This order marks a significant milestone in promoting the use of PEM fuel cell propulsion for maritime applications and emphasizes the commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
