The project will involve 19 salt caverns and various hydrogen treatment facilities to store approximately 400 million cubic meters of hydrogen. Costain's multi-disciplinary engineering team will work on front-end engineering and design contracts to support the development of this facility. The first phase will focus on solution mining, while the second will handle the gas storage facilities required for the HyNet system in the Northwest of England and North Wales.
