The Finocchiaro CLP Government in Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to the Territory Energy Link project, which involves establishing a multi-user, multi-asset infrastructure corridor stretching from Elliott to Darwin. Awarding a tender for technical advice signifies progress in corridor planning and pipeline development, with a focus on completing the 670km priority section by 2028. Formerly known as the Tennant Creek to Darwin Infrastructure Corridor, this project aims to create a buried services corridor that can accommodate gas, water, optical fibre, hydrogen, and other essential utilities for the Territory's future. Minister Bill Yan highlighted the project's role in connecting the Beetaloo to Darwin, attracting investment, and generating local jobs. Minister Gerard Maley emphasized the importance of securing tenure to drive major investments in energy, infrastructure, and logistics. The project aims to support the development of gas, hydrogen, and critical minerals industries, while also future-proofing infrastructure for services like water and fibre optics. The Territory Energy Link project is part of the government's plan to rebuild the economy, delivering long-term economic and strategic benefits for the Territory and Australia.
