Adani Enterprises Ltd has launched India’s first hydrogen-powered truck in Raipur, marking a significant step towards promoting clean and green transportation. The truck, which can carry up to 40 tonnes of cargo and run for 200 kilometers, was inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. It is designed to transport coal from the Gare Pelma III mine to a state power plant, with a focus on reducing pollution in the mining logistics sector. This initiative is a joint collaboration between Adani Natural Resources and Adani New Industries Limited, aiming to leverage hydrogen fuel cells and smart technology in the transportation sector. The project signifies Adani's commitment to gradually replace diesel vehicles with more sustainable options, aligning with efforts to support clean mining practices and reduce environmental impact. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Sai lauded the launch as a demonstration of the state's dedication to clean energy, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that help decrease the carbon footprint while meeting India's energy demands. Adani's strategic roadmap extends beyond hydrogen trucks to encompass various sustainable practices such as utilizing solar energy, digital solutions, autonomous machinery, and specialized tree-moving techniques during mining operations. Dr. Vinay Prakash from Adani Enterprises highlighted the objective of establishing 'model mines' with minimal environmental consequences to ensure access to reliable and cost-effective electricity for all. This endeavor is part of the broader mission of the Adani Group to advance clean and responsible mining practices, with a vision to drive innovation and sustainability in the mining industry.
