Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), in partnership with IIT Madras and guided by the Tamil Nadu government, has revealed the Hyundai HTWO Innovation Centre in Chennai. This 65,000 sq ft research hub is focused on green hydrogen technology and marks the initial phase of HMIL's INR 100 crore investment in advancing sustainable energy solutions in India. Equipped with cutting-edge computational labs, experimental setups, and pilot testing areas for electrolyzers and fuel cells, the centre aims to lead the assessment and implementation of large-scale hydrogen systems. The Centre's inauguration by Tamil Nadu's Industries Minister aligns with the country's goals for local hydrogen production and achieving carbon neutrality. HMIL's Managing Director highlighted the centre's significance in nurturing local talent and scalable hydrogen solutions as part of the 'Make in India' initiative.
