Proteus Energy, based in Singapore, has revealed the Proteus Maritime Fuel Cell Solution, a cutting-edge hydrogen-based system for maritime applications. Created in partnership with Symbio France, supported by Michelin, Stellantis, and Forvia, the solution comprises fuel cell stacks with a 75-kW output that can be combined for greater power needs. The offering, known as the Proteus75, is tailored for harbor craft and vessels in coastal, offshore, and inland waterway sectors, addressing the urgent demand for clean energy solutions in the maritime industry. Manufactured at Symbio's gigafactory in Lyon, France, the system boasts a two-year performance guarantee and is slated for availability from January 2026, pending DNV type approval. Proteus Energy also supplies high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks, developed with partner Forvia, to facilitate safe hydrogen storage on vessels. Furthermore, the company collaborates with port operators to deliver customized refueling solutions and infrastructure, aiding in emission reduction efforts.
