ZeroAvia, a zero-emission aviation company, has announced plans to launch a Hydrogen Centre of Excellence and a major manufacturing facility in Renfrewshire, near Glasgow Airport in Scotland. The facility will focus on the production of hydrogen-electric powertrains, supporting the company's manufacturing operations and testing for advanced high temperature PEM fuel cell stacks. With a significant number of pre-orders from airlines and OEMs, ZeroAvia is ramping up its production operations to meet the growing demand. The project, made possible by a $12 million grant from Scottish Enterprise, will create about 350 highly-skilled jobs in the region. The UK government has also been actively supporting ZeroAvia through various funding schemes, enabling the company to achieve milestones such as flying the world's first hydrogen-electric commercial scale aircraft and securing regulatory approvals for its powertrains.
