After a summit held in Vijayawada focusing on green hydrogen, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu released the 'Green Hydrogen Valley - Amaravati Declaration', targeting the transformation of Andhra Pradesh into a green hydrogen valley by 2030. The summit gathered over 600 delegates, including industry experts, to lay down policies for clean energy production and green hydrogen manufacturing. The strategic action plan includes ambitious goals such as manufacturing 2 gigawatts of electrolysers by 2027 and 5 gigawatts by 2029, aiming to produce 1.5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2029. Efforts are underway to lower the cost of hydrogen gas from Rs 460 to Rs 160 per kilogram through research and development. Additionally, infrastructure will be developed to support the distribution of 25 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2029. The declaration also designates an investment of Rs 500 crore for innovation and research, with a focus on supporting 50 startups in green hydrogen development, shaping the initiative as a green energy corridor.
