Delegates from ten European countries gathered in Donegal Town for the Interreg Europe Green Hydra Conference, a two-day event focusing on supporting the development of green hydrogen in Europe and ensuring SMEs are part of the green hydrogen value chain. The conference, held at the Central Hotel, brought together leading voices from across Europe in energy, policy, academia, and enterprise. Key sessions delved into 'Community Acceptance' and 'Innovation in SMEs', emphasizing public engagement, safety, and the role of innovation ecosystems in driving hydrogen solutions. The conference also featured visits to Killybegs Port and Atlantic Technological University Killybegs, allowing delegates to engage with local experts on infrastructure, skills, and hydrogen readiness. Workshops addressed barriers, enablers, and policy learning, stressing the significance of collaborative efforts to accelerate the transition to clean green hydrogen. Anne Marie Conlon of Donegal County Council highlighted the opportunity for stakeholders in Donegal to connect with European partners on a similar transition journey and learn about policies supporting the shift to clean energy.
