In an innovation project called SafePtX, a new hydrogen sensor has been developed to monitor hydrogen levels globally and enhance safety in hydrogen production and Power-to-X processes. The sensor, created through a collaboration between SulfiLogger A/S, Green Hydrogen Systems A/S, DBI, and DGC and facilitated by Energy Cluster Denmark, provides real-time hydrogen concentration monitoring. This sensor is praised for its robustness, cost-effectiveness, and ability to simplify installation and maintenance. The development aims to address the critical need for safety in electrolysis plants and PtX processes where hydrogen is involved. The project partners emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring to avoid critical thresholds of hydrogen concentration. The sensor's early detection capabilities for hydrogen leaks are highlighted as a significant advancement in preventing fires and explosions. High interest in the sensor is reported globally, with discussions ongoing with numerous electrolysis plant manufacturers. The project's successful outcome is seen as a significant step towards ensuring reliable and competitive sensors for Power-to-X processes. The involvement of Danish expertise and manufacturers in the global hydrogen market is expected to increase, supported by the innovative sensors developed in the SafePtX project.
