SkyNRG, a Dutch energy company, is receiving up to €250 million from APG to support the global development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This investment will boost SkyNRG's first SAF production facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands, expected to begin operations in 2028 with an annual capacity of around 120,000 tons. The plant aims to convert low-quality oils and fats into SAF, offering an 80% reduction in emissions compared to traditional jet fuel. SkyNRG's collaboration with APG underscores the increasing focus on decarbonizing the aviation sector. The company has already supplied SAF to more than 30 airlines worldwide and has actively promoted the adoption of sustainable practices in aviation.
