ZeroAvia, a US-based company, is set to build a major manufacturing facility in Renfrewshire, Scotland, at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) to produce hydrogen-electric powertrains for commercial aviation. This initiative includes the establishment of a Hydrogen Centre of Excellence and manufacturing facility to develop zero-emission engines for larger aircraft. The project, supported by Renfrewshire Council and Buccleuch Property, aims to attract private investment and create hundreds of jobs in the area. Scotland's First Minister, John Swinney, praised the move as a step towards the country's Green Industrial Strategy, highlighting the potential for technological advancement and job creation in the hydrogen sector.
