Viking Ocean Cruise recently celebrated the delivery of its new ship, the Viking Vesta, at Fincantieri's shipyard in Ancona, Italy. With a gross tonnage of 54,300 tons and 499 staterooms for 998 passengers, the Viking Vesta will initially navigate the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. While able to use conventional marine diesel, the ship is designed for future technologies, allowing easy integration of new systems as they evolve. Notably, Viking also disclosed plans for the world's first hydrogen-powered cruise ship, the Viking Libra, currently under construction.
