In the United Kingdom, VEV and Maritime Transport have joined forces to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transport solutions. VEV, an e-fleet solutions provider, and Maritime Transport, a logistics firm, are working together to develop high-powered electric truck chargers. These chargers will be installed at key Maritime Transport sites in Wakefield, Doncaster, and Tilbury, facilitating the introduction of battery electric trucks later this year. Further charging infrastructure is set to be deployed across nine additional sites, enabling simultaneous charging for up to 98 electric trucks. This partnership aims to drive forward a cleaner supply chain in the UK, with both companies emphasizing the importance of this milestone in the country's electrification journey. Concurrently, Wrightbus has secured a substantial £150 million finance package from HSBC UK to boost its production of zero-emission buses. The funding will support the company's efforts in scaling up production in Northern Ireland and Malaysia, while also advancing new electric and hydrogen bus technologies. Wrightbus's CEO highlighted the significance of this financing in propelling the growth of the business and promoting sustainable public transport solutions.
