The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, inaugurated 24 state-of-the-art Volvo buses at Kyari Ghat near Solan, demonstrating the government's commitment to providing excellent transport services and promoting green energy initiatives in the state. Sukhu announced substantial investments in Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), with an annual grant of Rs 1,000 crore to enhance transport services for the public. The government has procured a variety of buses, including 500 diesel buses, 300 electric buses, and 30 Volvo buses, with plans to acquire 100 Tempo Travellers. Notably, the promotion of hydrogen-powered and e-buses aligns with the vision of establishing Himachal Pradesh as a green energy state. To support this, the government plans to set up additional charging stations across the state at a cost of Rs 110 crore.
