Australia-based Climate Impact Corp. aims to transport approximately 3.5 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually to Asia and Europe starting from 2027. The company, led by Chairman David Green, will utilize its two 10-gigawatt facilities in Australia to meet the increasing demand for clean fuel sources. Discussions are underway with various companies in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China to cater to the rising interest in alternative fuels like ammonia from clean hydrogen. Japan's shift towards ammonia aligns with its environmental objectives, including 100% ammonia-fueled power generation and zero-emission fuel technologies for ships by 2050. To facilitate these deliveries, Climate Impact Corp. has partnered with Purus Marine Services Ltd. from Singapore to establish a zero-emission shipping route using environmentally friendly vessels. The company plans to initially use medium gas carriers for shipments, eventually scaling up to larger vessels as production grows. With a vision of 20 ships operating between Australia and Europe, Climate Impact Corp. emphasizes the importance of collaboration with partners like Purus to ensure infrastructure readiness for the increased delivery volumes.
