PepsiCo recently unveiled the 10 startup finalists selected for the GHAC APAC, spanning a broad spectrum of innovative solutions ranging from waste management and upcycling to green hydrogen systems. Among the finalists are companies like Calyx.eco and Endua from Australia, Beijing AIForce Technology Co. Ltd. and Beijing Phabuilder Biotechnology Co. Ltd. from China, Circular Unite from Singapore, and DEEGOLABs Inc from South Korea. According to Ashley Brown, PepsiCo APAC Chief Sustainability Officer, the GHAC initiative is viewed as a mutually beneficial platform for both PepsiCo and the participating startups, offering opportunities for testing, adapting, and scaling sustainable innovations that drive environmental and economic value. Brown emphasized the importance of agility and local relevance in the dynamic APAC region, highlighting how GHAC accelerates the exploration of emerging ecosystems and tailored technologies. PepsiCo has witnessed successful collaborations with past GHAC winners, such as Powered Carbon and Alternō, showcasing the tangible benefits of sustainability-led innovation. These collaborations have led to the exploration of new technologies and operational approaches to enhance sustainability across PepsiCo's supply chains. Each of the 10 GHAC APAC 2025 finalists will be granted US$20,000 and receive mentorship, resources, and expertise from PepsiCo to support the development and scaling of their innovations. The winning startup will further be awarded an additional US$100,000 to advance their solution. Brown expressed optimism for future partnerships within the APAC region, aiming to drive sustainable infrastructure investments and replicate successful models of innovation for environmental and business gains.
