ACWA Power, a prominent Saudi energy company, has solidified its commitment to green hydrogen and renewable energy by entering into multiple agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with international partners. Among these partners are Edison SpA, TotalEnergies Renewables SAS, Zhero Europe BV, and EnBW from Germany. The primary objective of these agreements is to lay the groundwork for a green hydrogen and renewable energy export value chain connecting Saudi Arabia and Europe. This collaboration will involve evaluating market demand, determining the feasibility of large-scale renewable energy projects in Saudi Arabia dedicated to export, and strategically planning a power transmission route to Europe. In addition to these agreements, ACWA Power has also inked MoUs with various entities to reinforce relationships crucial to the development of the power transmission corridor. Notably, a joint development agreement with EnBW has been established to co-develop the initial phase of the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Center, slated to be operational by 2030. This signifies a significant step towards establishing a sustainable energy ecosystem in the region.
