Dover India, a part of the global Dover Corporation, has joined forces with RV College of Engineering in Bengaluru to establish a cutting-edge laboratory dedicated to hydrogen research and development. The new facility, situated within RVCE’s Centre for Hydrogen and Green Technology, aims to become a leading hub for pioneering work on hydrogen technologies and material reliability under extreme conditions.
This partnership not only focuses on advancing hydrogen research but also delves into emerging fields like sustainable materials, IoT, and Industry 4.0. With advanced infrastructure jointly developed by Dover India Innovation Center (DIIC) and RVCE, the laboratory is set to be a one-of-a-kind facility in India, offering top-notch research amenities that are currently rare in the country.
The collaboration involves over 20 technologists from both organizations working together to develop technologies related to hydrogen generation, storage, transportation, safety, and applications. Moreover, the Center of Excellence (CoE) will provide practical training for RVCE students, equipping them with essential skills in clean energy technology.
Dover India's R&D division in Jigani, Bengaluru, established in 2021, has been at the forefront of advancing technologies in various areas such as corrosion, tribology, coatings, polymer synthesis, and material characterization. The new laboratory further enhances DIIC's platform-based strategy, aiding in accelerating research and technology development across different sectors, primarily focusing on clean energy.
The leaders from both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up the laboratory. This collaboration, led by Dover India's R&D Head Vivek Srivastava, aims to strengthen the academia-industry relationship and drive clean energy research forward, incorporating both fundamental and applied research.
