In a significant move towards accelerating India’s clean energy transition, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI) at a national workshop in New Delhi. The event focused on the role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the green hydrogen supply chain. Minister Joshi highlighted MSMEs as crucial for India's green energy ambitions and the scheme's role in certifying green hydrogen production. The workshop featured discussions on technology collaboration, business opportunities, decentralised hydrogen production, and catalysing investments for MSMEs. The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to make India a global leader in green hydrogen, with targets set for production capacity, renewable energy capacity, investments, job creation, and emission reductions by 2030. The event advocated for standardised protocols, innovation hubs, and policy frameworks to support MSMEs and stimulate private investment in the green economy.
