The country faces hurdles in navigating multiple green mobility initiatives promoted by various ministries, including EVs, biofuels, CNG, and hydrogen. While the commitment across sectors is strong, a more coordinated approach is needed to amplify results. The decentralization of policies at central and state levels offers flexibility but requires greater coordination for pricing and regulation consistency. Challenges in EV charging infrastructure, incentive structures, regulatory processes, and fund utilisation highlight the need for streamlined policies and clarity to boost industry participation and consumer confidence. A proposed categorization of mobility technologies into 'green' and 'clean' could aid in policy coherence and implementation, accelerating India's journey towards sustainable mobility. By integrating datasets, policymakers can make data-driven decisions and achieve long-term benefits for consumers, industry, and the environment.
