Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an infrastructure major, is gearing up to establish the nation's largest green hydrogen plant at Indian Oil Corporation's Panipat Refinery in Haryana. The project, in alignment with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission, aims to position the country as a global leader in green hydrogen production and technology. L&T's wholly-owned arm, L&T Energy GreenTech Ltd, will be responsible for supplying 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) over a 25-year period. This initiative supports the Centre's National Green Hydrogen Mission and IOCL's goal to decarbonize refining operations and contribute to India's net zero objectives. The plant will operate continuously using green energy sources, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and clean energy practices.
