Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, hailed Rajasthan's progress in clean energy, highlighting the state's achievement of sourcing nearly 70% of its power capacity from renewable sources. The inauguration of the 435 megawatt Gorbea Solar Power Project marked a significant milestone in the state's clean energy journey, generating clean electricity and reducing carbon emissions. The project, completed in under eight months, involved innovative technologies like advanced solar panels and robotic cleaning units. Shri Joshi emphasized the project's impact on the community, empowering farmers by leasing land for the project and creating job opportunities for over 700 local workers. The focus on community involvement and skill development reflects Rajasthan's commitment to inclusive growth in the renewable energy sector. Moreover, policy reforms, such as the Integrated Clean Energy Policy and the Rajasthan Green Hydrogen Policy, aim to attract investments and promote sustainable energy practices. The Minister also highlighted the project's use of advanced solar technology and discussed future prospects with Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells, showcasing Rajasthan's potential for further energy innovation. He commended Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma for spearheading policy and investment reforms, which have attracted substantial investment commitments in renewable energy and green hydrogen. India's energy landscape has also seen remarkable progress, with the country surpassing its target of 50% installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources ahead of schedule. The Minister emphasized the need for accelerated deployment of wind-solar hybrid projects, particularly in Rajasthan, which boasts significant untapped wind potential. The Gorbea project symbolizes a new chapter in India's clean energy journey, heralding a future of sustainable energy, hope, and self-reliance.
