ACWA Power Co. and international partners have finalized agreements and MOUs in Saudi Arabia on July 20 to establish a comprehensive system for exporting renewable energy and green hydrogen to Europe. According to the Saudi Ministry of Energy, these agreements demonstrate the Kingdom's ambitions in global logistics and its pioneering role in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. The partnership involves key European companies such as Edison, TotalEnergies, Zenobe, and EnBW with the objective of exporting renewable electricity from Saudi Arabia to Europe. A significant part of the collaboration is the joint feasibility study to assess the market potential in alignment with Europe's clean energy objectives. Additionally, ACWA Power has inked MOUs with power interconnection companies and appointed Italy's CESI as an independent advisor. Moreover, Prysmian, GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, and Hitachi will contribute to the development of advanced transmission corridors using high-voltage technology. Furthermore, a joint deal with Germany's EnBW has been established to construct the initial phase of the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub, with plans for commercial operations to begin by 2030.
